|
|
Signing
of the Partial Test Ban treaty, which banned
atmospheric nuclear tests. We are widely credited
with originating the demand and achieving the

1964 to
1974
|
|
We were
among the first groups who demonstrated against U.S
involvement in Vietnam, and we played a significant
role in ending the Vietnam War. On June 12 in New

1982
|
|
On June
12 in New York and in San Francisco we helped
organize the one million people who demanded an end
to the arms race.

1988
|
|
We supported Carolyna Marks in the creation of the
Unique Berkeley Peace Wall - also walls in Oakland,
Moscow, Hiroshima and Israel (a joint Jewish and
Palestinian children's Peace Wall).

1991
|
|
With
much community support, we protested the
Iraq-Persian Gulf War.
Since then, we have consistently
urged the lifting of the sanctions against Iraq
which cause suffering and death of thousands of
women, children, and the elderly.
